Welcome to BuckleUpYourPet.org. Thanks for visiting my website and my blog. If you are here, you have an interest in protecting your pet, and yourself, from injury while driving. Congratulations on taking that first step toward being an informed pet parent.

If you read my story, you know that I used to place my life, and Bear's life, in jeopardy while transporting her in my vehicle. I put her in the backseat and in a plastic crate, which was not secured to anything. I tell you this in the interest of full disclosure. I love my dog, but I put her, and, myself in harm's way, numerous times. When I discuss pet transportation safety with other pet parents, the number one response that I receive is, "Wow, I never thought about that before. But it makes sense." What you see on this website was born from a desire to educate myself on how to better protect ourselves and our pets.

The information on this site is synthesized from years of research. I am by no means an expert and I am constantly looking for new information. I recommend products based on what is being tested and how those products have performed. The goal of Buckle Up Your Pet is to create awareness, to inform, and, ultimately, to ensure that all products on the market have a safety rating. I know that you, as a pet parent, love your pet and want to keep him/her safe. I welcome your feedback, your questions and your stories.
